Merry Christmas

INSTRUCTIONS:
Print Merry Christmas in green and cut into an oval shape.
Paint the book red inside and out.  Paint the pages white.
Paint a ¼” wide band around the Merry Christmas oval and a thin gold line around the book edges.
Paint a gold stripe top and bottom of the book binding.  Add some “squiggle” lines for pretend writing.
To simulate individual book pages dry brush gold to the white area.
Transfer the holly/berry pattern.

Book1
Paint the leaves ½ Christmas green and ½ white.  Blend the two colors at the center.
Paint the berries red with a little white at the top.
Add a dot of gold to the berry tip and a strip of gold to the light color of the leaves.
To create a shadow, thin your black paint to a water consistency and brush the thinned paint around the inside of the white paper oval, leaves, berries and outside the gold oval.  Paint must be thin, almost a wash of color.
Spatter the entire book with black.
Finish with a clear acrylic finish.
