DCC's Beaded Screenlet Bees
by Peggy Caldwell

This project combines two of our favorite products….Mosaic beads and Screenlets.  The heart shaped Screenlets are made from window screen material and come in several colors.  This is a great children’s project and it only takes minutes to complete.   The bees can be added to floral arrangements, basket handle, decorations for a present or add a pin back and wear him on your shoulder.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Choose colors of Rocaille, bugle and E- beads to match the mosaic bead body of your bee.
Bee Body – Hold loop of eye pin in your left hand.   String on and e-bead, antique gold or sliver head bead, your 20mm body bead and another e-bead.  Use your needle nose pliers to turn over the end of your eye pin crimping it in place.  If you have room tuck the end of your bent wire into your e-bead.

Antenna – Bend your second eye pin in the middle.  Alternate adding Rocaille and bugle beads to the center bend.  Put the antenna through the body eye pin loop.  Add more Rocaille and Bugle beads leaving enough room on the end to turn the end of the wire over.

Wings – Bend and crease the heart in the center.  Add a dot of hot glue at the front of the Mosaic body bead.  Press the fold of the heart in place.  The humped end of the heart is placed at the head.  Randomly add a small amount of craft glue to the wings.  Sprinkle Rocaille and bugle beads over the wing glue.

To make a pick make a hook in one end of your florist wire and hook it between the head and body bead.  You don’t have to make it too tight.
