INSTRUCTIONS (click on underlined
items for patterns)
The snowman PATTERN given with this instruction sheet is the one that is applied to the fiberglass insert of the large box. Reduce this pattern by 50% for the medium box and another 10% (60%) for the small box & the ornaments.
BOXES
Paint the inside of the boxes White. Paint the outside of the boxes medium blue. Trim the edge of the lid in light blue.
Large Box - Transfer the snowman pattern to the lid insert. Paint the entire snowman White. Paint the carrot nose orange. Shade around the edge of the snowman where it touches the lid under the carrot nose, along the underneath side of the arm and along the outside edges of the scarf in Medium Blue.
Paint the stripes on the scarf in Red. Paint a little white snow to the top of the carrot nose.
When completely dry ink in the eyes mouth and detail around the edge of the snowman following the pattern. I
Medium Box - Repeat all instructions with these exceptions: Reverse the pattern so that the snowman is on the right side of the box insert. Instead of stripes on the scarf add red polka dots.
Small Box - Paint the snowman the same adding a string bow of red and green instead of a scarf.
Adhere remaining stars to box fronts. See sample photo.
Spatter box base and lid in white.
Ornaments
Lay your ornaments over a towel-covered board. Use an awl and hammer to punch a hole approximately ½" from tip on one star peak. Add a 12" piece of wire to the hole. Twist around a pencil to add interest to the wire. On the Distressed White Star sandwich the twist at the top of the wire between 2 of the 1" stars. You will need to add adhesive between the stars.
Instructions are the same for the ornaments as the fiberglass insert snowmen. To the 5" Distressed White Tin-Tique® ornament shade around the outside edge of the snowman on the star in medium blue. Stripe the scarf in Green. Add painted snowflakes to the snowman's hand in medium blue.
Highlight the snowflakes ends in tiny dots of white.
Seal the boxes and the snowmen painted area with a brush on matte acrylic sealer.
Glue a Poly Mirror 5" star to the back of the snowman painted star ornament. See sample for placement.
Poly Mirror Ornament is painted the same adding red dots to the scarf.
